About

I am currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow at the University of Newcastle, Australia, where my research focuses on defining the matrisome of human endometrial cancer and developing organoid models using endometrial cancer ECM-based hydrogels. My work involves detailed characterization, validation, imaging, and functional testing of these models. Additionally, I am developing cell-derived extracellular matrices and designing scaffolds aimed at vaginal regeneration and wound healing. My techniques include decellularizing human and bovine endometrial tissues, validating the decellularization process, forming hydrogels, growing 3D organoids, performing cell viability assays, and conducting mechanical characterization of hydrogels through rheology and viscometry, along with proteomic analyses.

I completed my Ph.D. at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay from 2017 to 2022 under the guidance of Prof. Rohit Srivastava. My thesis, titled "Green and Scalable Synthesis of Plasmonic Inorganic Nanoconstructs for Cancer Theranostics and their Toxicity Assessment," involved synthesizing various inorganic nanomaterials and hybrids, including MXene, gold nanoshells, tungsten disulfide nanosheets, tungsten disulfide quantum dots, silica nanoparticles, polymeric nanoparticles, carbon/graphene sheets, and carbon/quantum dots. I characterized these nanoparticles with multiple techniques and applied them as cancer theranostic models, particularly for photothermal therapy, while also conducting comprehensive toxicity assessments in vitro and in vivo. I was honored to receive the “Naik and Rastogi Award for Excellence in Ph.D. Research" for 2021-23 for my work.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology in 2015, working on the project "Expression, Purification, and Immunolocalization of Leishmania Proteins" under the supervision of Dr. Amogh Shastrabuddhe at the MSB Division, CSIR-CDRI, Lucknow. I then pursued an M.Tech in Nanotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee in 2017, where I worked on an Indo-UK project titled "Quantum Dots Conjugated Drug Delivery System Encapsulated in Biodegradable Polymer Microspheres," guided by Prof. Kaushik Pal.
